We gathered at Center GMC, a wonderful church out in the country but with a heart of hospitality.
Pastor Steve welcomed us to their church, Pastor Lilli from Hickory Grove Traditional Methodist led us in Joys and Concerns and prayer. Gail from the Salvation Army shared the great need for people to take a Christmas Angel to buy Christmas gifts for children in Chatham Co. Pastor Linda from Merony read the scripture and gave a wonderful sermon on the role water plays in our lives and the living water that Jesus brings. We ended the worship time with communion.
Then we ate. The church members made wonderful pimento cheese and chicken salad sandwiches. And there were 5 different soups to choose from. The dessert table had a huge punch bowl full of banana pudding, along with cakes, fruit torts, and pies. We definitely did not leave hungry.
Our district is alive and well and living out our mission of worshiping passionately, loving extravagantly, and witnessing boldly.
