Disaster Recovery Plans, 10/1/2024

Our first mission is to pray.  We can all do that and do it several times a day as God lays burdens on our hearts.  We have read so many stories of victory, even among the devastation.  God in moving among the area.

Our church’s plan at this time is to collect money.  There are a lot of groups taking supplies and that is sorely needed.  But this is going to be a long process of recovery.

NC GMC Conference has partnered with On Mission Network that has several centers throughout NC.  We will be working with them on projects moving forward.  Here is the info that they have sent out in the event you want to do more than just write a check.

To personally volunteer with one of the On Mission Network partners in North Carolina, NC Baptists on Mission, follow this link

They are accustomed to accepting volunteers of all types and abilities. The form allows you to choose dates and supply other information for volunteering.

For NC homeowners to report storm damage of their home, they should follow this link.

For donating funds that will directly provide help, hope, and healing to families impacted by Helene, please follow this link:

There is a gift bag in the church narthex where you can place your gifts for recovery.  If you write a check, make it to  Sapling Ridge GMC and in the memo write hurricane.  Those funds will then be put into one central payment to On Mission Network.

You can also just go to the link and donate with your credit card if you like.

As time progresses, we can discuss further opportunities of possibly providing a work team to help with the rebuilding.

Thank you for being the Hands and Feet of Jesus in this critical time.
