The Family Came Home, 5/5/2024

Our Annual Memorial Sunday, or Homecoming Sunday was on 5/5 and it was so special to see family members come home to worship with us.

Before worship, we had the Memorial Committee Report, led by Kevin and Helen. They shared about the care of the cemetery. Diane shared that she has the updated map of the different plots in the cemetery. If you need information about a plot or location of a family member, you can contact Diane.

We had 75 in attendance for Worship. There was a heavy rain Sunday morning which kept some of our family at home. But the ones that came enjoyed great music from the congregation and the choir. We passed the peace and enjoyed seeing everyone. The sermon by Jason was perfect. The last several weeks have focused on how we, as Easter people, have been justified, and growing in sanctification and not this week, he spoke about glorification. He talked about paradise.

At the end of the sermon, we remembered our church family who have died since last Memorial Sunday. This year we remember Brent. And Jason reminded the family that was present, that Brent is in paradise.

We closed the worship with the hymn, Because He Lives. Another great reminder that this life we currently have is not the final destination.

And then the feasting began. We had a great meal in the Fellowship hall after worship. No one could have gone home hungry!

Mark your calendars for next Memorial Sunday, the first Sunday in May, 2025. Hope you can join us!
