Our sister church, Mt Vernon GMC, joined us for Maundy Thursday worship. Jason and Irion hosted dinner for us. They provided great tacos and all the toppings. And for dessert, wonderful sweets.
Jason explained that Maundy meant “new commandment”. During the Last Supper that Jesus had with his disciples, he gave them a new commandment to love others as Jesus had loved them.
After Dinner we moved to the Sanctuary and Jordan led us in several hymns. We then heard about Jesus’ washing the disciples’ feet. We then had the option to wash feet or have our feet washed. It was a humbling and holy time.
After foot washing, we then celebrated Holy Communion, remembering all that Jesus went through during the last hours of His life on Earth. He became sin for us so that we can have life eternal with Him.
Thank you, Jesus.
