The men from Sapling Ridge and Mt Vernon had a very successful day of cooking hams. Some hams were purchased by members for their own Christmas meals but the bulk of the boston butts were given to needy families in our communities. The weather was great this year for cooking the meat. No rain and not so very cold.
That evening the men invited the church members to come have dinner. And it was delicious: Ribs, brisket and all kinds of good things to share.
The next morning, the hams and boston butts were wrapped and picked up/delivered to homes all over Chatham County.
Thank you, Silk Hope Men, for taking the time at this Christmas season to make the holiday nicer for others.
