This time of the year in our church we celebrate Advent, a time to prepare for the birth of Jesus, God’s extravagant gift to us. Our church has reminders of this time with a beautiful tree, wreaths on the windows and doors and the Advent candles.
During Worship, Karen and Michael shared a meditation about the first candle of the Advent wreath.
And what a wonderful image we shared. We had the Advent wreath, preparing us for the birth of Jesus, and then we had the bread and cup of Communion, reminding us of all that Jesus did for us to bring us back to him.
